Seminars

In contemporary English, we use the expression “I am dying for…”. For example, on a hot day, you might say: “I am dying for a cold glass of water.” What we mean, of course, is a strong desire for something we want, but don’t presently have. Are you “dying” to have what-the-Bible-calls the “abundant life?”

Wouldn’t you like to live your Christian life with greater self control and confidence? Overcoming, instead of stumbling? Experiencing peace instead of anxiety? Love instead of anger, joy instead of depression?

The Dying to Live Seminar explains the symbolism of the Israelites’ journey from Egypt to Canaan—revealing truths that will help you understand how to live in the power that comes from Jesus’ death and resurrection.

The Dying to Live Seminar is a presentation of truth that will change your life forever!

Cost of seminar: $30 includes “Dying to Live” Booklet (26 pages of diagrams and notes in a 3-ring binder) and the book Are You Dying to Live the Abundant Life? by teacher and author Greg Burts.

What is “Dying to Live?”

In Luke 9:23, 24, Jesus stated “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.” Jesus says the way to life is through death, and if anyone is to follow Him, he must deny self.

What is the “self” that is to be denied? Every person develops strategies to meet his or her need to belong, to be loved, and to matter. The unique ways each person tries to meet those needs is called “flesh.” These strategies to meet one’s needs have shaped his or her “identity.” These strategies are what-the-Bible calls “flesh.” Flesh is everything a person does to meet his or her needs independent of Christ. These fleshly strategies are what hinder him or her from knowing and experiencing a victorious Christian life. How can we be changed? Our “old self” is to be exchanged for a “new self.” Galatians 2:20 states: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.” Exchanging the old self for the new life Christ gives you makes you something radically different than you were before.

“If any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Do you believe this? Are you ready to make this commitment to say: “I want to deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Jesus?”
